This is a book I created in my Junior year of College at UMass Dartmouth. It was a really enjoyable assignment in which we had to choose a number of our favorite fonts and create a book which paid homage to them.
When I began, I had no clue as to what I would use as a theme to tie the book together. After a while of thinking I came upon the idea of devoting an entire spread and fictional story to each font. The stories include hidden descriptions and comical mooning over the fonts' structures. Their graceful decenders and tails, their strong spines and bowls...etc. It was quite fun to craft these totally absurd make-believe stories. |
